My 6th grade students are energetic, curious, and always looking for ways to make learning more engaging. Many of them thrive with visual supports and hands-on activities that break the routine of standard worksheets and lectures. They are eager to succeed but benefit from tools that help them stay focused and organized.
This project is all about something simple but powerful: colored paper.
I’m requesting a variety of brightly colored paper to use for focused note-taking and cheat sheets—small, student-friendly worksheets that reinforce the key points of each lesson. These cheat sheets are perfect for summarizing concepts, reviewing vocabulary, and highlighting essential skills.
Over time, I’ve noticed a clear trend in my classroom: students are more likely to keep, refer to, and use colored materials than plain white worksheets. When I print notes or review guides on neon pink, electric blue, or bright green paper, they grab attention—and more importantly, they stay in folders and backpacks rather than the recycling bin.
Middle schoolers benefit from strategies that make learning feel personalized and engaging. Colored paper may seem small, but it’s a game-changer for students with focus issues, organizational struggles, or learning differences. It helps them mentally “flag” important information and makes note-taking more enjoyable.
With your support, we can color their thinking, build their confidence, and help them succeed—one cheat sheet at a time.
