This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are behind grade level when they arrive to us in sixth grade. They have many social emotional issues. The neighborhood surrounding my school is neglected by the city. If you believe in social justice, please donate to my students.

My students live in the Pico Union area of Los Angeles.

This area suffers from systemic poverty. While the city chooses to keep certain areas clean and safe, this is not one of them. I am hoping to create a warm caring atmosphere at my school. An atmosphere that will act as an oasis for many of my students.

My Project

I am requesting supplies to create this warm environment. In a former project on this website I had a color printer purchased for my classroom. We have run out of ink, and now I need more. I have also requested some markers for posters and markers for the white board.

My project is very important because my students need to feel like someone who has more means than them in society cares for their future.

They need to feel that society cares for them.
