My Project
The high school students I teach in my classroom have a variety of disabilities and need the support of color in their assignments, notes and classroom activities to give them a greater sense of pride in their work in my self-contained and co-taught classes.
Colored visuals are proven to support retention of information and they can decrease the number of repetitions necessary for a student with a disability to learn some skills.
Being able to provide several different versions of the same assignment requires supplies to meet the needs of my student who deserve to have their needs met. A color printer lets me prepare and deliver engaging lessons to my students to challenge them as much as possible.
You can help my students take pride in their work by publishing their slides into posters to demonstrate learning in a variety of ways. My students love making PowerPoint presentations and making posters of the content as they explore it more in depth will only increase their excitement for learning, desire to polish their work, and pride in meeting the expectations their peers meet.
