You know how when you work hard to make something amazing you want the final product to look amazing? My students have worked to become excellent second grade writers. They have written narratives, informational pieces, and opinion pieces this year and with each assignment they get better and better! Our last assignment was writing a biography and the kids absolutely loved it! Many chose people relevant to them and their interests like Taylor Swift and Lebron James. Others chose fantastic examples from history like George Washington, Martin Luther King Jr., and Betsy Ross. They wrote beautiful, well thought out biographies and then were asked to attach pictures to make a poster.
After printing the first few, I realized with all that hard work, we could make the posters look amazing if they were in color.
Problem is, teachers in my school have no access a color printer. So I had to go home and print them all on my home printer. This not only extended the project, but definitely added to my home workload! I would have loved for students to be able to print their pictures here! A classroom printer like this would allow us to do just that, and so much more! I can see my gifted students using this for printing their projects, my creative writers finding fun ways to show their slides and docs as they complete them, even my math and science kids using it to print experiments or graphs! The opportunities are endless and the color aspect would add so much excitement and make our stuff just that much better!
