This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Color paper and cardstock paper can be used for many things. In my class, we will use it for art projects, as a background for a special piece of school work, posters and charts, and for class and student-written books.

Color paper can also help to reduce visual stress and improve focus for dyslexic students.

The goal in my classroom is not only to become a better, more fluent reader, but to make school a less stressful environment. I want all of my students to see reading a simple piece of paper as a fun and great event. The contrasting colors can help to break up the visual monotony of the black text on white paper, making it easier for the reader to distinguish individual letters and words.

Color paper improves concentration and productivity. Light blue paper encourages better mind flow and performance. Light green paper provides concentration. Light yellow offers cheerful qualities. Colored paper promotes rest and calmness, and students will improve their efficiency and focus.

My students who come from low economic homes, feel that I have put more effort and care into the worksheets and materials when I present it to them on color paper rather than standard boring white. When they see a piece of paper that is color, it stands out to them more and they take better care of it and read it better. They are special young people who get excited about art and reading. A simple piece of colored paper can mean so much to them.
