Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project will provide engaging resources like themed read-alouds. A $100 TPT gift card will help me access high-quality instructional materials tailored to my students’ needs. Many of the beads and bracelet-making supplies will be used for Fun Friday incentives. Resources about national parks will help expand my students’ understanding of the world beyond their neighborhoods, as many have never experienced nature outside of the city. Tissue paper will be used for in-class art projects. I selected the book Eyes That Kiss in the Corners because our students rarely see themselves reflected in literature. It’s important to expose them to stories that affirm diverse identities and promote acceptance. I also selected the book What Does It Mean to Be American? to help teach the value of patriotism, belonging, and what it truly means to be an American.
