"Learning is not the product of teaching. Learning is the product of the activity of learners." ~ John Holt
My students are on the move in our classroom learning in groups, individually, and as a class.
They do not sit in one spot for too long and rarely sit at their desks. They are actively learning.
My students love school! They enter the classroom excited every day to see what the schedule is and what their learning targets will be. I have many who face challenges at home and many who are struggling academically. However, they do not let these challenges defeat them. The perseverance residing in each one of them inspires me every day and makes me strive to give 200 percent, all day, every day.
My Project
"Color my World" is a saying my students hear from me often. I encourage them to do their best and create work they can always take pride in. We use coloring materials several times during our day and by this time in our school year, the supplies provided by our school have been used.
My students are a classroom full of eager, smart children who love school.
Each child brings a wonderful uniqueness to the classroom and their uniqueness is conveyed each and every day through their conversations and endless creativity. Many come from homes that struggle to provide the basics, and when they set foot in the classroom, they know all of their social and emotional needs will be taken care of during their school day.
The crayons, markers and colored pencils will be used on a daily basis to complete various assignments. Most of our activities are hands-on and creative. Our current supply has dwindled to a few broken crayons and markers that are dried out. Having a new set of materials at their fingertips will encourage students to not only color my world, but color their world as well.
Having the basic supplies in our classroom allows my students to continue the hands-on, creative activities that allow them to succeed. Each student will feel confident knowing they have done their best every day and continue their love of learning.
