My Project

I'm lucky that I get to see all my students at my school! I love working with the little ones, see their excitement when they come into the music room, and do all the crazy movement songs with them. I also love watching my older students grow as musicians, be that on the recorder or ukulele, create their own composition, or still be a child and having fun with a parachute!

The desk bells would be a fabulous addition to our classroom, because it would give each child the possibility to play along together with all the other students.

Right now, we own one set of desk bells. My students love to explore them during stations time, but I would love for them to be able to play along with a song as a class, similar to when we use the boomwhackers. I think they would be especially useful for my students in JuniorKindergarten through 2nd grade.

I have seen the Joia Tubes in catalogues for a few years now and always wanted to add a set. I think they would work well as a resonant addition to our Orff instruments and give us a different timbre to work with. I can see my older students really enjoying to add ostinatos to recorder songs.
