This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our artists are constantly exploring new ideas, themes, and adventures in the art room. I have created this project to give my artists new materials and methods to develop their creativity. I am always trying to give my students an empowering and exciting art experience. The art room is a place for exploration, play, creativity, and community. For some, it is the only hour of the day where they can express themselves in a creative way while spending time with friends, making mistakes, and growing as an artist.

My students deserve professional and innovative materials so that they can develop their craft and see their value as artists of the world.

As a Pre-K through 8 public school teacher, this project will enhance the learning of hundreds of students of all ages. I try to show my students that they can do anything- we can practice our ideas, persist in our efforts, and explore new techniques. When I can introduce new exciting materials to my students, engagement skyrockets and the awesomeness of art integrates into their daily lives.

With new neon paints, we can create a neon art show exhibit to enhance the student's experience and increase community engagement with our amazing artwork. The Colors of the World drawing tools will help ensure that every student can feel seen and celebrated in our school community. The Posca markers, sharpies, and watercolor paper will give middle school students professional grade art supplies so that they can see that their hard work has value. Every book and material on this list will benefit the amazing artists of Graham School!
