Do you remember getting all those boring white worksheets? Well, my students don't care much for them either. I add color whenever I can to spice things up.
My students are vivacious 7-year-old 2nd graders.
We are a Title I school and there is not funding for extras like colored ink and paper. We do a lot of project based learning, and extra resources are always needed and appreciated. My students are dreamers, creators, and artists. They love to be challenged to make something beautiful, functional, and necessary.
My Project
My students need colored paper and colored printer ink to spice up our worksheets, notes, and projects. Adding color adds to my students' education. We use color ink and colored paper for parent communication, research projects reports, and differentiation. You name it, we add color to it. I have always bought the colored ink and paper myself. I start out the school year spending around $500. It would sure be nice to have some help with this financial burden.
This is important to me because it is extra.
It shows my students how to be creative, resourceful, and imaginative. They get so excited to see all the pretty colors and they get set to work. I choose not to be boring. I want color, excitement, and enthusiasm in all areas of their learning.
