Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students come in like little sponges - ready to soak up all we have to teach them, regardless of their starting points. I'm looking forward to a new year with bright shiny faces depending on me!
Most children come from low-income families and the entire district gets free breakfast and lunch.
The situations the children come from do not provide them with an educational foundation however, their willingness and excitement about learning are not diminished. Although the students come from neighborhoods all over the city, we have a safe learning community that everyone contributes to.
My Project
The interactive math wall helps students with their number sense and builds on existing skills of counting, addition and subtraction. Students become the teachers as they learn the activities and present them to their classmates.
With the color printer I will be able to make the activities exciting and appealing.
I can print the students pictures for the math wall activities and job charts. The laminating sheets will make the prints durable and reusable with dry erase markers as we will use them every day.
In addition to the math wall, the color printer will be used for science and social studies lessons bringing these subjects to life!
