My first graders are excited to walk through our classroom doors! Despite the wide variety of backgrounds my students come from, each one has the desire to learn to read. These young minds are eager to see what each day holds in our classroom to help them in their academic journey.
When a student learns to read, their mind is filled with endless possibilities.
Many of my students are first generation of English learners. Learning how to read and write is opening up many opportunities for my students and their families.
They want to be at school and their sweet faces show it. Their smiles and hunger for knowledge warm my heart as I strive to provide them with variety of opportunities.
My Project
I am requesting colored pencils, markers, and pencil cases. Students love to use colors! Providing kids with a variety ways to create a project allows their imagination to soar. Illustrating a narrative writing with markers and colored pencils is a nice change from crayons. Choosing a single color for the day and letting the kids write in that color all day gives them a fun change.
By simply letting students write with a marker on an assignment rather than a pencil gets them excited.
Many of my students will only have the opportunity to use markers and colors pencils at school. Keeping our supplies organized allows our day to flow smoothly and consistently.
