Every student learns differently. In school, we often require students to show their work in a traditional, written format. I try to incorporate speaking, student-led conversation, and multi-media projects into my curriculum.
I work to achieve a classroom community that embodies respect, empathy and tolerance.
I believe students need to feel safe and trust their peers and teachers in order to be successful. My two groups of students have achieved these aspects of community in order to demonstrate their remarkable curiosity and talent.
With the diversity of learning styles and needs we see in our students, it is important we give them access to use and create visual products.
Students are far more engaged with their work and seek excellence, when they produce work for an audience.
I want to make sure my students' creations can always be creative and in color with a color printer and extra ink to keep it printing.
In addition, I know that having a printer at home is often a burden and/or unreliable for students. With a classroom printer, students may always have the ability to print assignments, materials, and or personal work in the convenience of our classroom.
