Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students work hard to learn to read and write. I would like to provide art experiences integrated into our language arts program to spark their creativity and develop their ability to visually present concepts. Art allows my multi-lingual students to freely communicate their ideas.

Integrating art with our writing will engage hard-to-reach students, provide challenges for all levels of learning, and allow students to connect to the wider world.

Art increases motivation and energy as the children express themselves and tell their stories.

These art supplies (watercolors, crayons, markers, and oil pastels) will provide meaningful learning activities that activate creative happiness.

Another way my students connect with the wider world is through technology. They are learning how to keyboard and write on the computer. Headphones are necessary while they participate in these technology education programs. The skills they are learning on the computer prepare them for college and careers.
