Color Me Excited To Learn!

My students need a printer, ink cartridges and printer paper to have color materials to enhance and engage their learning.

My Students

Do you remember how much fun it was in school when games were played and you didn't even realize that you were learning while playing?

We are an urban, trauma sensitive elementary school, K-4, of over 500 students with 60% receiving free or reduced price lunch.

Special education students make up 20% of our population. My struggling special education reading and math students experience a lot of frustration and fatigue in school while working with bland, lifeless, black and white, photocopied materials.

My Project

The requested materials (color photocopier, color ink and paper) will help me make creative, vibrant materials such as games, flash cards, reference charts and reading materials that will engage and motivate my students. My students will feel more a part of the general education students while reading materials with bright pictures, playing fun educational games, practicing targeted skills, using colorful reference charts and being able to print out their own writing.

Last year, I was so lucky to receive a laminator for "lasting literacy" by an angel donor.

The laminator, coupled with the ability to print out rich, vivid, interesting materials will help me create alluring and appealing educational supplies for my struggling, needy students. This will help to increase their educational growth and progress while making their school experience more inviting, positive and valuable.
