Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach in an Autism specific classroom, and all of my students are nonverbal and rely on visual supports and communication boards to express themselves and understand their daily routines. These tools are essential—but they’re most effective when printed in color.

A color printer would allow me to create vibrant, engaging visual aids and communication boards for my students.

Whether it's a picture communication board, visual schedule, choice board, or social story, color makes the difference in helping my students connect meaningfully with their environment.

Here are my goals for this project:

Improve Communication for Nonverbal Students

Provide high-quality, color-printed communication boards, PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System), and visual supports to help students express needs, wants, emotions, and ideas.

Enhance Understanding Through Visuals

Use color-coded visual schedules, social stories, and instructional aids to improve comprehension, reduce anxiety, and support transitions for students with autism.

Foster Student Independence

Equip students with personalized, color-printed tools that enable them to follow routines, make choices, and navigate the classroom more independently.

Create an Inclusive Learning Environment

Ensure that all students, regardless of verbal ability, have access to tools that meet their unique learning and communication needs.
