Color Appeal in Student Team Projects

Help me give my students the color printer ink, chart paper and markers they need to use their creativity in creating science, language arts and math projects.

My Students

Every year I look forward to greeting the new students in my classroom. They are always engaged, happy and anxious to learn. Their families are clearly supportive of their learning and show this as they bring them to meet their teacher each year.

My students come from a variety of backgrounds, languages, and cultures.

Our Title I School has limited financial supports to further engage our students. These grants help fund projects my students would not normally be able to produce.

My Project

My first grade students see multiple colors in the technology they utilize on a daily basis. However, due to budget constraints, they are not able to print some of their own projects they work on in color.

It would be a shame to deny these students the ability to print from science and math team projects as well as stories they've written and illustrated in color because we didn't have access to the ink.

Whether it is a color photocopy of personal writings, a topic they have studied such as a science report, or a print out of a photo they have taken such as team math charts, I want students to have access to this in color because that is the way they see the world. Some of our students do not own a single photo of themselves. I want to provide that for their families.

Our classroom budgets have been further squeezed this year. And I have already personally donated many materials. So it is especially helpful to these students to be provided ink that they would not have access to this year.
