My Project

I work with low SES students, many of whom will be 1st generation college students. Their families do not have a lot of institutional knowledge to pass down to them about how and where to apply to college. They need to know where they can attend, what degrees they can obtain, and how to get scholarships. Each year, our counseling team takes them on college tours around the state. On each tour, we visit a community college and a university. We award them with swag at the end to help them feel they belong to that campus, even in 9th grade!
