This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
3 Seeds Mentoring Group identifies and assists individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds who have the potential to succeed in higher education and entrepreneurship. The program provides academic, career, and financial counseling to its participants and encourages them to graduate from high school and continue on to and complete their post-secondary education. We also encourage students who have not completed education programs at the secondary or post-secondary level to enter or reenter and complete a post-secondary education program or trade.
The goal of our program is to increase the number of youth from disadvantaged backgrounds who complete high school and enroll in a post secondary educational programs immediately after graduation.
My Project
"There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation." - Colin Powell. We have a group of high achieving students who strive to attend and graduate from a four year university. However, many of our students never seen a college campus. These resources allow us to take a large group of students to visit local universities.
We desire to prepare our students to enter and graduate from a four year institution.
When we are on a college visit it is hard to identify our students amongst such a large group of young achievers. Name tags and drawstring bags allows us identify our students in a crowd of young scholars. It also gives the students a place to hold their items while on campus.
