Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a high poverty, low-income town but that does not mean I treat my students any different. Although my students work hard, they understand and are aware of the fact that due to their parent's low socioeconomic status, college might be difficult to afford. Our school is pushing hard for our students to become aware of opportunities to attend college so that we can close the achievement gap. In my classroom, my students are confident and work hard to make their dreams come true while working hard.

My students are a great group of kids and are very eager to learn.

They have discovered that learning can be fun and enjoyable! I have high expectations for them because I know they can work hard and can achieve success! My students are a close-knit group that has been together since kindergarten. They all know each other and get along because they all come from similar backgrounds.

My hope is that every single one of my students gets accepted into a university or junior college, the point is for them to never stop working towards their goal.

My Project

Our school is promoting college readiness for our students. We encourage our students to start preparing for college even though they are only in 8th grade. They have been doing research on various colleges and what it takes to attend these campuses. Our students are encouraged to visit them and get a head start when it comes to knowing and understanding the college system.

Wearing these T-shirts will encourage our students to continue with their goal of attending college.

Not only will they be reminded that they have set a goal for themselves, but they will show pride in promoting education. The goal is for our students to be lifelong learners and what better way to do than to empower them through education and college attire!
