My Students

My classroom is the future of our culture.

They strive to learn techniques on how to push the limits of their creativity to become the most effective artists. Some artists are illustrators, others animators. Some artists even have a traditional realism skill while we also have students who thrive on abstract expressionism. Though my class is full of a variety of talent, each of my students understands the importance of design in our society and how it influences decision making for individuals, communities, and culture.

The artists in my class build an atmosphere of support for one another. They collaborate and critique to encourage one another to seek new ideas and challenges. I am very proud of my students for valuing each other and praising one another in their achievements. This helps them become better and more confident artists, which enables them to work to their full capacity and produce amazing and inventive ideas that impact the people around them.

My Project

My art students have had many opportunities to showcase their amazing artwork in their local museums! They are also working on their CollegeBoard Studio Art portfolio in order to get college credit to advance in their schooling. Proper presentation of their artwork makes a huge impact on how their artwork is judged.

Properly displaying student's artwork is the gateway to opportunity for them as an artist.

Judges look for professional skill in medium and also display assembly. Therefore, I will teach my students how to properly mount and mat artwork by introducing them to the mat cutter. Students will watch as I demonstrate how to successfully measure and cut a window out of matboard and carefully adhere their artwork to the matboard.

I am thrilled to have continued support in our community to showcase our student's work. Having their artwork on professional display gives them a sense of confidence and pride that the will carry into their adulthood.
