This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am teaching 16 sweet college-bound 3rd graders who are eager to learn! We have a very busy, exciting year ahead of us as we continue to dive into math, reading, writing, science, and social studies together, building the foundations for lifelong learning.
Alongside these academic topics, we are also building a culture of error, learning from our mistakes, and constructing evidence-based arguments to support our learning.
My students are also learning important social-emotional skills and practicing healthy habits in various aspects of their lives.
My Project
My scholars need basic school supplies to complete assignments and do their best. Many of my students come from low-income households and I want to alleviate their families of this additional financial stress.
We need pencils, notebooks, erasers, dry erase markers, and pens to show off our knowledge in all subjects!
We use dry erase markers to practice math skills, red pens to fix and learn from our mistakes in writing, and pencils and notebooks to plan and prepare for history tests and other assignments.
The kids of Detroit are ready to learn and ready to be an example for the rest of the world. Help them succeed!
