Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am lucky to teach a group of passionate seniors who are ready to make a change in the world they live in. Our investigations of sustainability and environmental challenges have inspired them to make small changes in their own ecological footprints.
Unfortunately, many less sustainable choices are often the more affordable.
For students who are motivated, but also coming from a low socioeconomic background, these choices become difficult.
My students are AP Environmental Science students who are highly motivated and engaged in their academic success. I hope to help set them up to be both successful college students and stewards of the environment.
My Project
Rocketbook Notebooks allow students to keep digital copies of all work they complete, as well as decrease the amount of materials they will have in their backpacks as they move around campus. This will greatly help them in developing study and organizational skills as well.
Students will be able to use the Rocketbook Notebooks to both reduce their carbon footprint and become organized college students.
Additionally, we will use the notebooks to begin a conversation about cradle to grave production and impacts of sustainable choices. Students will be able to use this resource indefinitely, and hopefully live out the green choices suggested in AP Environmental Science.
