My Students

My students are in seventh and eighth-grade. These students are part of a Title I school. They strive to always do their best even in tough times.

They are creative, free thinkers that desire and need challenges during this time of uncertainty and many changes.

My Project

Our school uses the AVID program that supports college and career readiness skills. Students work on organization and time management skills to prepare themselves for the future. Part of the AVID program is being college aware, learning about skills needed to be ready for a future career.

Our middle school students are just beginning to think about their future and we want to provide them with every opportunity to learn about what could be out there for them.

We want our students to get excited about college. We have college Fridays so staff and students can support their favorite teams. we create bulletin boards and displays to highlight colleges.

This project will provide the materials needed to create ceiling tiles to put throughout our school to add to the college-going environment. AVID students will paint ceiling tiles with their favorite college logos.
