This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are creating a college and career feelings lunch club where students can talk about their feelings, fears, concerns and questions about life after high school. This club will be led by an alumnus from our high school who is currently enrolled at a CUNY college and has so much to share with them about her experience. All of our students are newcomers to the country who have a lot of family and societal pressure to succeed in college, but often lack the support and knowledge needed to excel. This club will act as support for our students to express their feelings and needs.
