My Students
Our students are all so unique, ambitious, and full of creative energy! In our classroom, we currently have 9 children ranging from 7-10 years old. Our students are motivated to learn and love completing hands-on activities!
These students have varying abilities and it is extremely important that we create practical yet relaxing and stimulating environments for them to learn in.
While we have been extremely lucky to have a comfy library space funded through DonorsChoose.org, we would like to add more seating options as well as space for them to take their new Chromebooks.
Our school is located in the inner city part of Philadelphia in an impoverished neighborhood where a lot of children don’t have basic necessities and therefore lack the skills to be successful in today’s world.
As teachers, we strive to fill this gap and give children experiences that they may not have had otherwise by teaching them in the best way possible to meet.
My Project
My students and I have been extremely lucky to get quite a few of our DonorsChoose.org projects funded over the past year. We have been building up our classroom to make it the most accessible, integrated and comfortable that we can. We were extremely lucky to get new materials for our library corner, and are now looking to get more items that will allow us to use this space in the most functional way. We need a small table where we can come together, collaborate and work on our social skills! This table with floor seats will allow us to have an independent station where we can read with one another as well as go on our new Chromebooks together!
