Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a Title I school serving the lowest income families in our neighborhoods. Ninety-eight percent of our families receive free or reduced-price meals.
My students walk into our classroom every day full of energy, eager to learn, and excited for what is going to happen that day.
My students are amazing, seeing their creativity and eagerness to learn makes me smile each day. I love being with them and providing opportunities that go beyond academic achievement and providing an opportunity for exploration.
My Project
In a classroom setting, students receive whole group instruction. But often, teachers need to meet with smaller groups to differentiate instruction based on reading levels or math abilities. This table will offer the opportunity to check in with small groups to provide direct instruction.
Students need the opportunity to receive direct instruction in smaller groups or one on one with their teacher.
This table will facilitate that instruction, meeting each student's individual learning needs. Direct instruction in math and reading will enable students to succeed far beyond whole group instruction.
