I work in the most highly impacted Title 1 school in my district. The students in my school are affected by poverty and low academic achievement. This year, the average score on the math and reading pre-assessment scores were only 30%. I teach a diverse group of children in my classroom made up of different language abilities, academic achievement, and special needs. Based on the math pre-assessment data, a few of my students have a strong sense grade math level skills, while the majority of the studetns are struggling with understanding the basic foundational skills. The reading pre-assessment data showed a small group of students who are performing on grade level, while most of the students are one to two grade levels behind.
Resources are need to help meet the various academic needs of my students.
These resources will allow students to learn and practice essentials skills whether it is by providing enrichment for my students who are at or above grade level and remediating those who are struggling.
My Project
In order to teach all of my students at their individual levels, they must be grouped by ability. It is extremely difficult to keep the rest of the students engaged and productive while I work with a small group of children to teach them at their academic level. That's where your contribution is imperative. Your donation of math and reading center games, such as the foundational skills learning center for common core standards elementary math and phonics activity stations, will help reinforce previously taught concepts and skills while actively engaging students. This will also allow me to differentiate instruction based on my students' various needs. My students will also learn to collaborate with each other while practicing foundational math and reading skills. My desire for my darling students is for them to reach high levels of proficiency in math and reading while loving every minute of it!
Please help my students reach their full potential by allowing them to learn at their own level and pace.
The use of math and reading center games is a vehicle which will enable my students to learn and master essentials skills in a leveled grouping as well as have fun in a social setting.
