My Project

Help me creative a classroom environment that focuses on collaboration, team work, and sharing ideas by using tables for student seats rather than desks. When students are able to work collaboratively they can not only learn from their peers, but they develop interpersonal skills that will help them throughout their lifetime.

Students working in groups in every subject area are able to build their academic language, communication skills, and their confidence in their own learning.

These tables will help bring that to my classroom for years to come. Using tables rather than desks will help students to engage collaboratively, and will help to foster a greater sense of responsibility for the classroom community given the use of shared spaces over individual desks.

I am hopeful that with this change, I can increase the collaborative learning of my students and support them through the challenges that come with working with peers. I can help to facilitate discourse and debates, and I will be able to witness students growing into humans with the ability to engage in complex discussions with ease and confidence.
