My Students
My 5th grade students are inquisitive and driven. They love learning and benefit from new and engaging strategies and technology. I enjoy challenging them and helping them reach their fullest potentials.
In my classroom of 30 students we celebrate our diversity and embrace our differences.
We have a wide range of abilities and backgrounds in our classroom. We have students who are English learners, students with special needs, and students who are preforming far above grade level. This unique composition teaches us to appreciate everyone's differences and realize that everyone has something special to add to our classroom community.
My Project
In my classroom students have the option to move around and choose a seat that best fits their learning style. Students learn best when they are comfortable in their environment. This project would help me provide students with many different seating options. I chose the wobble stools and tractor seats for students who may need to move around to release energy and improve their focus. The bean bag will provide a bright and comfortable spot for students to read by our library. The bench can be used as both seating and storage! I also love the flexibility of the convert a bench. Here students can sit on the bench to read or flip it into a table to work; it converts to their learning needs. The standing desk also provides students with a different choice.
Not only is our classroom flexible and comfortable, but it is also collaborative.
These seating options gives students the flexibility to move to different places in our room and work collaboratively with their peers. Giving them options to move in the classroom and pick spots that work best for their learning style allows them to stay focused and be more productive.
