This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
It's that time of the year again! In our school, we started a Cooking Club. A lot of our students love cooking and would love to learn how certain foods and dishes are made. Having our students exposed to the culinary arts and nutrition can teach them how to be healthy adults and live long healthy lives.
Currently, we do not have a microwave to demonstrate to our students; most resources are not obtainable working in an inner district.
I want to teach our children all about nutrition and how to eat healthily. What is a better way than to cook together?
Our Cooking Club will greatly benefit our students who are visual learners but also those who thrive on hands-on learning.
Our students could apply their nutrition and math measurement skills to make all types of foods with a microwave. The cups will be used for students to witness the process of measurement, cooking, and more amazing fun learning!
