Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Kindergarten students make my life brighter! They are energetic, creative, thoughtful, caring, and motivated to learn! I aim to provide a warm and inviting classroom environment that best suits their unique needs.
My students attend a project-based and STEAM school located in a low-income area of southern San Diego.
Many of the students are bilingual and are English language learners. My purpose as a teacher is to open the minds and hearts of my students by enhancing creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration within my classroom!
My Project
Flexible seating encourages collaboration and communication to comfortably take place. My classroom is not that big, so I think flexible seating will provide it with more space for activities. Research shows that flexible seating increases student engagement. Students feel empowered by having some degree of choice and control over their environment. Please help me transform my classroom with flexible seating options for my active Kindergarten students. More specifically, I am looking to replace student desks with tables to best fit our classroom size and encourage collaboration!
