Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from many diverse backgrounds which require many different approaches to teaching and learning. My students come in every day excited and ready to learn. Our school is a low-income school where every child receives free breakfast, snack, and lunch.

Many of our students come from homes that speak a language other than English and having the tools in the classroom my students need in order to succeed is very important to me!

Knowing my students come from different backgrounds and learn differently, I want to make sure they are well-equipped with all of the materials they need so that they can all learn to their highest potential and be prepared for the future.

My Project

My students love to learn! Especially together. This school year has been different in terms of working together during the school day. Now that we are coming back full time in person, we are ready to start working together. With this being said, we need a place to sit! By giving my students a table where they can leave their desk and gather with a partner to social distance or, with other peers once we are back to "normal," you are helping encourage them to work together.

Having a classroom that operates like a team is my goal.

By having a space that they can write and collaborate, this table can help expand their learning. The chairs will allow my students to be comfortable while they learn so they can help stretch their brains to the next level. My students work so hard and have been so flexible this school year, so by giving them flexibility with their seating options, the learning opportunities are endless!
