My Students

"Knowledge is a gift that can never be taken away." In my classroom, we strive to be lifelong learners with a sense of global awareness. We are problem-solvers, who take action for our learning.

Our third grade students are part of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program.They are a diverse mix of curious, caring, enthusiastic learners.

I am proud to work in an elementary school where the dedicated teachers truly consider the "whole child" when designing and implementing daily instruction. Most of our curriculum is authentic and teacher-created, and our students thrive on being actively involved in their own learning.

My Project

My students love to work collaboratively. I have been working to create a flexible environment where students can choose how they learn best, in part through their seating choice. Many of our current seating options are active ones. My goal is to switch half of my individual student desks to tables with innovative designs that promote sharing. These trapezoid tables are perfect for that.

Collaboration is a key skill in 21st Century Learning, and I hope to make my classroom environment set the tone by creating a space where students can work together.

These tables will also make more efficient use of space in the classroom, allowing for more wiggle room.
