Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My junior high ELA students are enthusiastic, creative, and eager to express themselves—especially when given the right environment and support. They thrive on collaboration and hands-on activities, but our current classroom setup makes it hard for them to work together efficiently. Many of them also face personal challenges outside of school, so I do everything I can to make our classroom a welcoming, motivating, and organized space where they can focus and feel successful.

This project will fund classroom tables where students can work in pairs or small groups on reading and writing projects, research tasks, and creative assignments.

These tables will be a central hub for collaboration, helping students build teamwork skills and deepen their learning through discussion and shared ideas.

Along with the tables, I’m requesting baskets to better organize shared classroom supplies—like markers, sticky notes, scissors, and highlighters—so students can easily access the materials they need without disruption.

Mints help my students maintain focus, stay alert and attentive during testing sessions.

Finally, a small stash of candy bars will serve as fun, positive reinforcement for participation, effort, and growth. These little rewards go a long way in building classroom morale and encouraging students to stay engaged.

This project will help create a more functional, inviting space for my students to learn together. The tables will allow for meaningful collaboration, the baskets will keep our room organized, and the candy bars will give students an extra boost of motivation and recognition.

Your support helps me build a classroom where students feel supported, celebrated, and ready to grow as readers, writers, and thinkers.

Thank you for helping us build a space that works for students!
