The students who take my engineering and robotics classes are a part of a large, urban school and come from many different cultural, ethnic, and economic backgrounds. However, these pieces of their identities do not define them.
The students who take my classes are curious, creative, and in general, they are thinkers.
They come in every day willing to learn and be challenged. They are future engineers and scientists, and I want to help start them off on the right foot.
My Project
For those of us who have been to an Escape Room, we know the fun of trying to solve puzzles in creative ways. In order to be successful with solving the Escape Room puzzle, your team needs to communicate, be creative, effectively collaborate, and think critically.
Breakout EDU boxes brings the collaboration, creativity, communication, and critical thinking that is needed to solve an Escape Room puzzle into the classroom with academic problems and puzzles to solve.
Developing these skills that will help in all stages of life and learning through games is invaluable to my engineering students. What they learn from the Breakout EDU box about communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking will be used every day in the classroom.
