it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are learning that their actions and ways they react to situations matter. I have a group of kids who thrive on hands-on learning and collaboration.
I teach at a title one school where several of our students are struggling to regulate their emotions in a healthy way due to lack of resources available to them due to poverty.
All of my students participate in the free lunch program. My goal is to provide my students with a safe place to collaborate and express their emotions in a safe and healthy environment.
I would love this opportunity to get financial help to ensure that students have a safe place to express themselves and collaborate with their peers while learning. I want to provide my students with a home like community within our classroom to help guide students in the direction of feeling safe and having a place to express their social emotional needs in a healthy way. With the way behaviors have become so prevalent, I feel like the only way learning can occur is if we meet children's social emotional needs first. The Spot of Feelings will be a great resource to familiarize student with different emotions and how to properly address them.
By adding this SEL program and this classroom rug, I be able to provide my students with a place to collaborate and work through their feeling in a safe and comfortable setting. The carpet will give my students to space they feel safe and part of a community. By providing my students with this social emotional program and a carpet they can use to collaborate daily will ensure all my students feel safe and supported so they can all learn academically and emotionally.
