Collaboration and Team Work: Tables and Flexible Seating.
Help me give my students a variety seating arrangements improve our collaboration and groups projects. Kids love to work together in ways that traditional desks don't allow. We need to upgrade!
Many of my students come from a high poverty area - many with little support at home. School is a very important part of these kids' lives. We not only provide academic learning but, as importantly, provide models of appropriate social behavior and create a school family for our children. They are an intensively rewarding population to work with and I love what I do! Our school is filled with hardworking dedicated teachers who meet the challenges of working with an at-risk population on a daily basis. We work very hard at creating a sense of community for our children, their parents and of course the staff of our school.
Our children have the innate curiosity and desire to learn that all children have.
I strongly believe they desire the best teaching and teaching practices that the education world can offer them.
My Project
My third graders love to work on group projects and are often asked to collaborate. Right now we have traditional desks and chairs which involve moving furniture around frequently to work with a team. Round tables would allow for collaboration and group work easily and will take up less space than our old clunky desks.

They are able to easily discuss and work together. The end results are fantastic! Help us sit and work together!
Some kids love to sit on the floor so adjustable tables will allow for a variety of working surfaces to enhance our learning!
