Mrs. Routten from Fort Pierce FL is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need 5 Chromebooks to take them beyond the walls of our classroom as we learn collaboratively by using on-line applications and prepare for successful futures in this age of technology!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My students are 4th graders in an inner city Florida school. The elementary school has approximately 600 students with about 75% qualifying for free or reduced lunch. Students are excited to explore their world and expand their capacity for critical thinking. My fourth-grade classroom is a place of discovery, innovation, and learning.
Students will spend this year actively learning and acquiring knowledge through discovery and learning.
They take pride in their efforts and are willing to challenge their minds for the sake of learning.
Having a set of Chromebooks will help my students work collaboratively and creatively as they reflect and provide evidence of their learning. There are so many educational applications available for students, yet our students do not have access to the technology.
My students desire to use technology to acquire knowledge that will prepare them for life!
Students will be using the Chromebook daily to communicate, collaborate, and to think critically and creatively. Students will communicate using Edmodo, Padlet, and Google classroom! Currently, students have minimal access to computers. When they do, students have to share screens with one or two of their peers. A Chromebook will help my students become computer literate which will help them be successful!
