My Students

My students are amazing. They come from diverse backgrounds and abilities. Andrews, North Carolina is a small town with few people and even fewer resources. 100% of our student body receives free breakfast and lunch every day due to the financial needs of our community. Many of our students receive food bags at the end of the week and/or community assistance for buying school supplies and gifts.

Despite these obstacles, my students come to school every day ready to take on the day.

They have the heart and dedication to overcome the odds and do great things. The students at AMS are hard workers with big dreams- and with your help, they will achieve all of their goals.

My Project

Collaboration is the key to success in school and life after school. By replacing our desks with round tables and chairs, students will have the opportunity to collaborate on a regular basis, sharing new ideas and learning in an environment that resembles what they will experience outside of school. These tables and chairs will be more comfortable and be welcoming for our students.

As our students prepare for their futures, they need to be able to gather new and exciting information through collaborative learning.

These tables would allow students to work together on a daily basis, in an environment that prepares them for college and beyond.
