My Project

Our classroom is a mixed bag of talented students who shine in their own strengths. The materials and equipment we are requesting will help turn our classroom into an amazing collaborative learning environment. The adjustable student desks will allow pairs and teams to work together easily both inside and right outside of the classroom. Students will have a shared space to put their minds, laptops, and their work together. Anyone can easily join a group at the standing desks and see what they are doing. These desks allow individuals who need to stretch or have a hard time sitting at their desks, the flexibility to stand while learning. The rolling whiteboards will allow the students to work wherever they want, to solve problems together, and then be able to move it to a place where they can present their information. The stools allow the students to easily work as a team. Anyone can pull up a stool to join a group, or the groups can gather anywhere they need to. The rolling stool is for the facilitator to effectively roam from group to group supporting the teams whenever they need it. The Apple TV will be the "hub" of the classroom where students can display and share their work on the big screen. It will also help the students to get instructions on tasks.

With the right equipment, a classroom can become an effective environment that fosters collaborative learning and builds valuable skills.

My goal is to create such an environment for my students especially when working on math, language arts, STEM and PBL projects. Working in pairs or teams will help my students to grow as effective communicators, to become critical thinkers and problem solvers, and leaders.
