Cold Weather Gear and Enrichment Materials

Help me give my students cold-weather gear. Galena gets down to -50 degrees during winter. We are a boarding school. If students lose their gloves, they cannot easily get another pair. I'd like to keep extras stocked.

My Project

Me and my students live in the rural Alaskan community of Galena, Alaska. This beautiful place houses a local school and a vocational boarding school, and I teach students from both. Living on the Yukon means we are subject to extreme cold during winter.

It is not unusual to have temperatures between -40 and -50 in winter.

Our students come to boarding school prepared with cold-weather gear, but kids will be kids and they frequently lose their gloves or hats. When they do, it can take several weeks for replacements to arrive as we live in such a remote community (we are fly-in only).

Due to this, I would like to keep a small stash of hats and gloves in my room for students to use when they need them. I would appreciate any and all support!

Additionally, I have added 2 teachers' pay teachers gift cards to this project. My curriculum is good but does not have any room for differentiation. I would like to get some supplemental material for enrichment as I am moving to a new subject.
