Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The goal of this project is to fully transform a part of my classroom into a choice seating coffee shop area where the students will feel relaxed to improve their learning environment. I had surveyed my classes and the majority (90%) of them said that coffee shop vibes make them feel focused and more likely to do their work. I intent to use all of the these items such as the dining tables, the chairs, the room division and also the racks to create that environment. I had a previous project that requested for the the other parts of the coffee shop and I am making this one to complete the seating and the tables needed. The access to this classroom coffee shop will be solely based on their performance and or improvement in terms of their work and work ethic in my classroom. I will also have a point system that they can redeem for free snacks or coffee that will be made using the donorschoose funded coffee machines. I believe that having this can and will make them want to stay in class as they will want to gain access to this and therefor improve their attendance and their grades.
