Coffee Cart Friday

My students need a Keurig coffee maker, K-Cups, cups to hand out, tea bags, and other materials for a Friday Coffee Cart. This is beneficial to my students because they are able to practice social skills!

My Students

The students I get to work with are absolutely phenomenal. The students I work with have disabilities ranging from mild to severe, but it does not stop them from doing the things they want to do! They have changed my life in ways they will never know, and I hope to do the same for them. Each day they come to me to practice life skills and unwind from the business of their general education classrooms.

We will utilize Coffee Cart Fridays to practice math skills, social skills, and following directions.

My students enjoy being helpful around our school, and staff enjoy interacting with them. This is a great way for my students to get to interact with more teachers and staff members each week!

My Project

I am going to start a Coffee Cart Friday for staff and students in our school. This benefits our students as they are able to practice following directions, social skills, and functional skills.

My students need a Keurig coffee maker, K-Cups, cups to hand out, tea bags, and other materials for the Friday Coffee Cart.

They will interact with one another and with teachers to complete coffee orders, count out money and give change, and deliver coffee orders. The skills they can practice during Coffee Cart Fridays are essential to their growth as individuals in the community. As they grow up and become adults, they will need to be able to effectively communicate, interact, and learn skills of counting money and accepting the correct amount of change. This is also a fun way for students to interact with one another, and with staff.
