Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students at our school LOVE technology. They get so excited when I come into their rooms to teach a variety of technology and STEAM lessons. Many of them have such creative minds and a determination to problem solve.
My students are extremely dedicated to learning.
We're working to maintain and strengthen our school community in which students learn to trust one another, set goals, and achieve great things! I'm passionate about helping these students to learn and grow as individuals by encouraging them to reach for the stars.
Our students come from a variety of diverse backgrounds, economically and ethnically. Some students have access to technology at home, but most of them lack the resources that would propel their technology and coding skills further.
I truly appreciate anything you can do to support the students in our school.
My Project
These materials will make a difference in my students learning by getting them excited to code. They will use the Sphero Minis to practice block coding on iPads. The Sphero Minis come with fun playing pieces that students can use to create games for the Sphero to take part in.
Students will be using their creativity and programming skills to have fun in technology class.
They will use the Makey Makeys to learn about programming in a neat way. They could even use bananas as bongos! My students will love this new technology because they will be learing to code, think critically, program, and design. Learning to code is important, so I'm glad to bring my students these tools!
