Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My enthusiastic class consists of twenty-four eager students. Most of them are deeply motivated and truly enjoy learning, but some need a little nudge to pay attention. My students are curious and ready to be challenged and motivated.
Our school is in a low-income community that serves a large number of English learners.
They come in ready to learn and work, but at times it is a challenge to keep their attention. In this age we are competing with video games and students’ attention spans are cut short. I need to inspire them to put their attention to technology and coding.
My Project
Having the Dash robot in my classroom will allow my students to learn how to code. They will use the ball launcher to get an introduction to robotics. It will be an amazing life changing experience for them to realize how learning can be so much fun. I will no longer need to worry about capturing their attention.
This Dash robot and its accessories will help give my students knowledge in coding, which will prepare them for a future in engineering.
They will learn that technology is an important tool and that it is actually fun. Some students might even decide that this is a passion they didn't know they had.
