My Students

This year I have an energetic group of second graders! Everyday they walk through the door and are so excited to learn, and can’t wait to hear what they are going to be learning about that day. They aren’t discouraged by failure, but strive to do better because of it. They learn together, and have become a classroom community the supports each other. When one of them is sad or discouraged they quickly go comfort and see what they can do to help. Every day is a new adventure!

My Project

This year we have been diving into coding, and learning how technology and computers work. We have been using shared resources that are available at our school, but having robots that are different and that we have access to at anytime of the day would enrich their learning. These robots would be available to my class as enrichment activities, and during our STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics) lessons. Students will not only learn more about coding, but also gain problem solving skills. Coding is as skill that is becoming more relavent in today’s society, and is a skill students will someday need in many occupations.
