My Students

This year, I started teaching a brand new classroom for our school. It was a Digital Learning Lab, which was computer skills based as well as Project Based Learning. I was so excited about this new opportunity!

I want all of the students that enter my room to have terrific experiences because they are amazing and exceptional students!

Students that will be in my classroom will be immersed in Project-Based Learning one day a week and will leave excited about the next week's project!

My school is a fantastic blend of various racial and ethnic backgrounds with the majority of my students falling below the poverty line and classified as at-risk. We have a large percentage of students who qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, and yet our school doesn't not receive additional supplemental funding for extra resources.

My Project

With the inability to attend professional development sessions this summer, I was concerned about learning new and exciting technology trends to take back to my digital learning lab next year. When I heard that the Pathfinders Summer Institute would take place virtually, this was the perfect opportunity to 'attend'! While searching through the catalog, I was looking for a workshop that would allow me to collaborate with a grade group.

When I saw Coding with Chibitronics Paper Circuits, I knew that fourth grade would be perfect for this workshop!

This would definitely enhance their required study of electricity and circuits. I can't wait to take this new knowledge back to the lab next year and share it with them, and their teachers!
