Coding with Calculators

Help me give my students access to calculators that will help with our studies in Algebra 1. These new TI 84 CE Graphing calculators and charging base will offer students a new way to work with problems.

My Students

My classes vary from Algebra 1 to Algebra 2. I have a set of calculators, but an additional 7 and a docking station will open up the option for every student in my class to have access to a calculator. I am actively incorporating S.T.E.M education into my classes to open doors for students after graduation. The docking station will allow the calculators to charge after every use and cut down on the cost of batteries.

I am looking to increase the number of calculators in my class set, so that all students will be able to code on them.

The students in my classes are from low income families, many who receive state aided help in some way, and many of them are unable to afford a graphing calculator to use in school. The students want to learn and explore more in the S.T.E.M. fields. With these additional calculators to add to the set my class already has, I am hoping to eventually use the calculators to program a TI Rover Robot so students can see their coding in real time.

My Project

We need additional calculators to help with our studies in Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 so that I can incorporate a coding unit into Algebra 1 and Algebra 2.

By donating to this project, you will be helping out students who are unable to afford graphing calculators and you will help open up the STEM education field to students.

Encouraging students to explore coding will open up their eyes to understanding that the essential skills and knowledge is needed for student success, but also because coding is such a large part of society now with almost everything being based around a computer or computer system.
