Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school is a Title I Pre-K through fifth-grade elementary school and all students receive free breakfast and lunch. Our students arrive at school every day excited and ready to learn, even though many of them may have walked some distance to get to school. Many of our students are emergent bilinguals and are very eager to learn English. The students at this school work hard every day and have bonded to form a caring family despite any disadvantages they may face.

These students look forward to our technology class and deserve to have the resources they need to be prepared for our technological world!

The Bee-Bot robots that I am requesting for my students will provide physical robots for them to code. These robots will be used by our students in kindergarten through second grade.

Donations to this project will provide an environment that meets the needs of diverse learners and is engaging for all students. Pairs of students will be able to collaborate with Bee-Bots to learn coding skills during center time. Robotics and coding are the most requested activities in our technology class. These activities are fun and engaging for all students, requiring them to think logically and critically. While participating in robotics activities, students use teamwork and communication. We have been working hard to develop computer science and coding skills and students are ready to put these skills into practice. They are ready to take the first steps to prepare themselves for their futures!
